How to Order Pizza With PayPal

Like a lot of people these days, I have a PayPal account I use fairly often. The other night, my boyfriend and I wanted pizza. The problem was, that, while our PayPal balance was high, our checking account balance was not. PayPal funds take three to five days to withdraw and transfer to your bank account. We wanted pizza tonight, not a week from now!
I don't know why restaurants that offer the option of ordering food online do not offer payment via PayPal. I suppose they may have issues with people claiming they did not receive the food and requesting a chargeback or refund. For whatever reasons, research left us with the firm answer: no pizza places accept PayPal for payment! (Apparently, some of them used to but do not at this time. Also, this option is more widely available in the UK.)
More exhaustive searching finally resulted in some success. We did find a place that would order us an e-giftcard for any 3 of the national pizza chains with our PayPal funds - but it was really hard to find!
To that end, this article's intent is to make it easier for people who find themselves in a similar circumstance. If you want to order food with your PayPal balance, it can be done!
One site we found, http://www.grubhub.com, will act as a go between with a restaurant and you and accepts PayPal. They are mostly limited to major cities, however. We also found the process rather confusing and complex.
Another site, http://www.paypizzapal.com, will order you an e-giftcard to Pizza Hut, Dominos, or Papa John's with your PayPal funds. We've used this site twice. The first time, we received our e-giftcard in our email in about 45 minutes. The next time, it was closer to half an hour. The e-giftcard arrived from the restaurant itself (we chose Pizza Hut) and we simply placed our order online and selected giftcard as the payment option. The only drawback was that the tip could not be included.
Both charge a fee for the service, but if you're hungry and don't want to wait the three to five days for your PayPal money to hit your checking account, they'll get you your pizza tonight.
We use Bitcoin a fair amount as well, but were unable to find anyplace that we could convert it for pizza. I imagine this will change as it increases in popularity.
There were some "freelancers" offering to provide this service, but I would caution against that. Mostly because you have to provide them with your address, which we were not comfortable doing.
I hope this helps anyone that finds themself in the same situation we did. When you're hungry and have money you can't access quickly, it's frustrating to say the least. Enjoy your pizza!
Please note that this is not intended to endorse the taste or quality of any restaurant. The only intent is to give some direction to those who have money in their PayPal account and want to use it to order food.
If you have money in your PayPal account, but no access to a credit or debit card, you can order pizza with PayPal. PayPalPizza and GrubHub offer this service.
