Roman Pizza Al Taglio Recipe - Enjoy The Authentic Taste Of The Eternal City At Your Home

The traditional Pizza Al Taglio takes about 30 minutes to be prepared and 25 minutes to be cooked. • 16 Ounces of tomatoes (preferably crushed).
• 12 cherry tomatoes.
• 4-5 Ounces of Fresh Mozzarella Cheese.
• 2 garlic cloves.
• 2 basil leaves (fresh).
• 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
• 12-14 Ounces of fresh dough and some flour.
• 4 slices of prosciutto cotto.
• One small zucchini.
• Half a teaspoon pepper and salt.
Cooking Directions

• Initially, for making the sauce, you need to add some olive oil to a pan and medium heat it for over 2-3 minutes. Add a chopped basic leaf and garlic to it and stir for 2 minutes. Now, add salt, pepper and crushed tomatoes to the same. This should be cooked for about 30 minutes at low heat.
• Preheating the oven to 450 degrees would be the next step.
• Now, take the dough and flour, and starting poking and stretching the same to flatten it out. Make use of a roller to create an oval shape that can be placed easily in a rectangular cooking pan.
• Now, brush the pan lightly with olive oil and add dough onto the same. Fit the dough in the rectangular shape and dress it with sauce and one more basil leaf (finely chopped).
• Slice the mozzarella cheese on the top of the sauce to cover the entire surface, along with a mixture of half sliced cherry tomatoes (half of them) and zucchini (finely sliced).
• Now place the pizza inside the oven for around 20 minutes. Afterwards, add the slices of prosciutto cotto to the pizza and cook it again for over 5 minutes.
• Remove the pizza from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting into your desired shaped slices and be served.
